Im looking into SSDs for my computer and I'm wondering if the WD Black 512GB Performance SSD will work on my Asus Z87-K motherboard. Im not that good with motherboards since there are newer generations of SSDs and motherboards and they have compatibility issues with older generations. If this is not compatible which SSD would you recommend for gaming on this motherboard?

Solution
PCIe NVMe SSDs, such as the WD Blank that you mentioned will NOT work on your mobo. I would suggest any 2.5 inch SATA SSD, such as a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB 2.5 Inch SATA drive. This will connect to your mobo using a SATA cable and a SATA power connector from your PSU.
