Hello, I just bought all the parts for a new computer and even though I've built all my past computers, I'm stumped as to what's causing my problems.

Yesterday I tried everything and it briefly popped up saying that I need to reboot and select a proper boot device with a single beep and ever since then, the pc would power down after about 2-3 seconds with no beeps at all. I figured it may be a heat issue (I'm using stock everything) and so removed the thermal paste that came with it and put in better paste today.

Today with the new thermal paste, it worked a bit more where I was able to get into my bios (with a normal beep post) and select my usb drive as a boot device, however now I'm having the same issue where it stops automatically after a couple seconds with no post.

I've read the sticky and covered my p's and q's and I'm not sure what the issue is. Yesterday everything was in the case and today I have everything laid out

Any ideas?

The only thing that comes to mind would be that board. I would highly doubt cooling would be at fault here, given the Wraith Stealth is a capable unit. I've read plenty of reviews on the Ultra gaming, and quite a significant chunk of them claim to be DOA's: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813145060. Is it possible to test with another board?

I had exactly this problem. I laid down the project after searching my eyes off. After testing a new motherboard I decided to send the cpu for warranty. Sure enough the cpu was broken. Even though the cpu was broken, I had still reached bios a few times.

If sending your cpu for warranty is free for you or low priced, and you have no other ideas on how to fix your problem, try it out.

Cheers
