Build my Own PC or Buy One Prebuilt?

Solution

That website you linked to is a hose job. Not only that, it has to be some of the worst, most half assed PCs I've ever seen and I've been doing this a long time. Tons of generic or off brand parts used in their PC shaped objects. If they don't tell you what the product is, don't buy it. I checked out their Threadripper system - 1 8GB stick for a quad channel system, stock cooler, and a generic power supply? I don't think so!

Your 6700K system is still pretty...

never heard of them

what are the specs of your current system? some parts may roll over in the new build.
I suggest pre-buit for a first system. for a second PC you should built it yourself IMHO. the link is broken so I cannot see what the budget was or the parts inside the system. throw out a budget, country, and the needs. I'm sure we can get you a balanced build.

I am looking to get a future proof sort of build. My current pc has nvidia gtx 1080, i7 6700k. Alienware Aurora r5, 16 GB Kingston HyperfuryX 2133 mhz.

I enjoy fast computers even if I don't benchmark them for games. I mainly play online games but like to stay educated.

Your 6700K system is still pretty adequate. There's no reason to upgrade currently. I have a pretty similar system with a 6700K and a 1080 and it handles pretty much anything I can throw at it.
