Hey guys, so I'm pretty new to building PC's, and I am wanting to create one that is future proofed for basically only gaming. This is the build I was thinking of getting (AU pricing).

Does this build work well together? I was originally going to get a Z370 motherboard but was told I only really needed a B360, and so I changed that up. I have limited options with a B360 motherboard, so is the one I selected good enough? Alternatively, I could go for the H370, but again have limited options, and am unsure about what would be better for my needs.

Another question was on the CPU cooler. I am unsure on what is better, the one I have selected (cooler master hyper 212 turbo) or Cooler Master hyper TX3 EVO. I ask this mainly because I am tossing up between the case I have selected now (Corsair 300r ATX) or the Cooler Master Silencio 550. I prefer the second case but the hyper 212 CPU cooler won't fit.

Solution
i would second the i5 8400 it features 6 cores, and is more then adequate for gaming purposes, you can pair it with a h370 mobo which should be cheaper then b360 mobo's since you don't need to oc

getting the i7 just for gaming is overkill

Gpu wise i would advise to find a base model 1060 6gb, to act as a placeholder until the new gen arrives

I own a cooler master silencio 550, it's a silent case as the name would suggest, but it has bad airflow due to the insulation (something to keep in mind for oc and amd gpu's)

i also have the tx3 cm cooler, no complaints here (very quiet)
What is limiting your options? If it's price, you can actually get a BETTER quality board (ASRock B360 Pro4) for less money. Here's what I'd recommend:

Swapped out your board for an ASRock unit. Still of high quality. Then, did the same with your RAM, Case, and PSU. Used the savings to upgrade to a GTX 1080, a MUCH more powerful GPU. Swapped your SSD out for a good/less expensive 240GB model. The 212 is generally better than the TX3 evo. Up to you what you do with the savings, could either invest in a larger SSD, or spend another 100 or so AUD to go for an overclockable setup.
