Cant Run BF1 with GOOD specs. Why?

So Bf1 straight up wont run. Im getting like 20-30fps on lowest possible settings (even through the render scaling to 70% on 1080p). I dont have the BEST specs but I do have a pentium g4560 and gtx 1050 2GB and 8Gb ram. Ive seen benchmarks online with these same specs getting 60+ on low/medium. Ive updated drivers and idk what else to do. Is this game just extremely unoptimized?

Solution

That will be fine.

Not trying to insult you but your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run that game properly. Your CPU is below minimum, your GPU is at or below minimum especially with only 2 gigabytes of vram. 8 gigs of memory is also at the minimum. If it's single-channel memory then you are actually below minimum requirements. They also post the minimum requirements based on single player only. If you try to play online you can expect even worse performance. I wouldn't believe everything you see on YouTube.

This is a copy and paste directly from Battlefield website:

Here are the minimum PC requirements for Battlefield 1 on PC.
OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
Processor (AMD): AMD FX-6350
Processor (Intel): Core i5 6600K
Memory: 8GB RAM
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB

Your PC is below min specs for the game so I am not surprised.

I know the specs arent that great but if you lookup on youtube benchmarks with my same exact specs it runs fine on low. Im not trying to run it on the best settings above 60 i just need it to be playable which others seem to achieve with this same hardware. Lately ive also ben experiencing some lag on games live r6s and overwatch so im pretty sure the problem is in regards to my whole system

Don't believe MOST of what is on YT, most of it's BS just to get views.

You need to upgrade your PC.

Ive checked all of this, ill do a virus scan and redownload drivers. Probably should have mentioned that recently (since the beginning of this month id guess) that other games like overwatch and rainbow six siege (which id run on high 60+fps) are having poorer performance aswell. Im pretty sure its an issue with my nvidia drivers or something, ill redownload drivers and see what happens

You need to upgrade your PC.

It's odd though, the min requirements. You can't compare a FX 6350 to a 6600K, there in completely different leagues and as for the G4560 it has much better single core performance which is typically better for gaming. And while the OP's system isn't the latest and greatest I find it hard to believe that it can't run it 1080P/Low at a reasonable FPS.

BF1 uses more cores on the CPU, that's why his Pent is getting killed.

He needs an i5.

I was benchmarking on conquest so that probably makes a huge difference as far as perrformance

thats wird didnt know faking benchmarks was a thing xd. good to know though, thanks

Yeah I feel like an upgrade is due. I do alot of video editing to so what would you reccomend? I was thinking maybe the i5-6400. Is that a sizable worthy upgrade?

That will be fine.

Don't forget, if you are only running one stick of memory that is going to be an issue with Battlefield 1. You need to run two of the same sticks to run dual channel. Some games don't run well with single channel. Battlefield 1 is one of them

Yeah definently getting another 8gb stick is a priority. Gonna get it with the i5 and should hopefully see better performance

UPDATE: The game is PLAYABLE now after I did these steps.

1. Reinstalled Drivers
2. Cleaned/dusted my pc
3. Followed the steps to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_9IHzgz3U0 (i know it has alot of disliked but seemed to help in my case :/ )

Used to get consistent 20-30 fps on low 75% render scaling and im now getting 45 to 55 fps on 100% render scaling. Still not very enjoyable but atleast playable until I upgrade my parts. (Keep in mind that I benchmarked these framerates playing on operations. TDM would probably result in even better performance). Also measured my pc parts usage and my cpu is at 99% consistantly and the gpu is at %40 so definently cpu bottleneck,

Yes you will. A friend of mine runs it with dual-channel and an i5 6500. You will be able to hold 60fps with that setup
