Here is the pc I am planning on building:
PC Build:
Intel core i7 7700 - $435

Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD - $349

ASUS Prime B250M Plus Motherboard - $109

Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB - $299

Cooler Master MasterBox Pro 5 RGB - $125

ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Turbo 8GB - $799

Cougar VTX700 80Plus Bronze 700W Power Supply - $85

MSI Optix MAG27CQ QHD 144Hz Curved 27in VA Gaming Monitor - $499

Total = $2700

Are all these components compatible and are they ideal.
I am wanting to game at 1440p 144hz at moderately high game settings

Also I will try looking for cheaper prices

Would suggest using this site to get your prices straightened out. And for anything past 1080p I can't recommend a 1080ti enough, which you can get for the same price as the 1080 listed and cheaper in some places.

recommended:

cpu - i7 8700k https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-8700K-Desktop-Processor-Unlocked/dp/B07598VZR8/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1532350278&sr=1-3&keywords=i7+8700k

cpu cooler - Didn't see you mention one so I will. nh-d14 is slightly cheaper but should perform similar to nh-d15. nh-d15 is more compatible with ram and around $12 more. I'll list them in order here...

It is good, BUT i don't know where you check your prices. You can literally take a 7700k with a decent mobo and a better oc'd gpu and save $700. You should just add the parts that you want in pcpartpicker. I made a system using same monitor, ram and case and put better gpu, cpu, ram, m.2 ssd and a solid psu. You can as well change anything you want. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fg4WfH

Any particular reason you're going for the 7700/B250 combo rather than 8700/B360? Unless there is a huge cost saving go with 8th gen intel if you can. Also I'm not sure about that PSU, I would look for a decent gold unit given your budget and the quality of all your other components.

ssd - https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Inch-Internal-MZ-76E1T0B-AM/dp/B078DPCY3T

gpu - gtx 1080ti https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-GAMING-Graphic-N108TGAMINGOC-11GD/dp/B06XXJMDTM/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1532350306&sr=1-6&keywords=gtx+1080ti

ram - I personally hate corsair ram and their warranty is HORRENDOUS. I've listed Patriot Viper here. I've used it for years and personally like it. I'm sure people could suggest multiple other brands too. https://www.amazon.com/Patriot-16GB-PC4-27200-Viper-PV416G340C6K/dp/B016ATK2O8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1532350348&sr=1-1&keywords=ddr4+3400

psu - You just can't go lower than Gold with a build as good as yours, So this is a no brainer. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Modular-Warranty-Supply-210-GQ-1000-V1/dp/B017ICWP82/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1532350458&sr=1-1&keywords=1000+watt+gold

mobo - I wouldn't go less than this board here to be honest. https://www.amazon.com/TUF-Z370-Plus-Gaming-Motherboard/dp/B075RJ8WN2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1532350542&sr=1-1&keywords=ASUS+TUF+Z370+Plus+Gaming+with+Intel+Z370

Case and monitor are up to you, those are always mostly preference.

Keep in mind that even though this setup I have listed here for you is beast, games ARE software. Many games are not optimized properly especially older ones. So if you're only playing newer titles you should be fine. But don't go playing an old game and expecting your fps to skyrocket now that your hardware is amazing. It just doesn't work that way and many people find that out the hard way. Many mmorpg for example are almost completely cpu bound to allow for many people to play and not just the ones with powerhouse GPU's, etc. But with this setup you should play most new titles fine in 1440p with an average of 80-100 fps I would think.
