Memory Upgrade Issue - Dell Inspiron 580

My parents have an Inspiron 580 Desktop with 4GB (1GBx4) of DDR3L memory. I tried to upgrade the memory to with 8GB (4GBx2) of Crucial DDR3 memory but after putting in the new memory, the computer stays stuck on the Dell bootup logo. I've tried all configurations recommended in the manual but nothing worked. When I tried just one stick (4GB), the computer would cycle through booting and shutting down without ever getting to Windows. I tested the memory on another desktop to make sure it works, and it does. It should be compatible so I'm not sure what the issue could be. Any suggestions?

The Hynix is what was in there.

Kisianik, thank you! Two follow-up questions:

1. How do I identify whether memory is high or low density? I usually buy this stuff second hand from sites like Craigslist so what can i look for to identify the memory's density? Is the only way to do so by looking up the model number?

2. Does speed (i.e 1066, 1333, 1600) matter? My understanding is it doesn't as the MB will automatically read the highest speed its capable off and that as long as both sticks match, it should be OK?

To save space just read this http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2620574/identify-module-low-high-density.html

1. It is very difficult and not always correct (old rule was - checking the number of banks on the card, if it is 16, 8 on each side - High, if it is 8 total- Low). Better just search individual model numbers in google, this sucks, I know.
2. You are right, motherboard will decrease speed to specs, but I would not jump very high above specs, in your case 1600 would be OK, higher, who knows.
