I just want to boost it to 4.7GHz

Hi, I have a 7700K and its been over 5 years since I've actually owned an overclockable CPU (I've gone through I7s that were either standard or S versions) and over time I've forgotten what exactly I'm supposed to do.

I have a SILVERSTONE Strider SST-ST70F-TI, an ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 and a Hyper 212 with dual Fractal Design Venturi HP so I think I should be fine.

I just want to overclock it just a little just to help speed up my video rendering if it will and maybe a little for my Guild Wars 2.

Just tell me what to change, you don't have to give me any over kill settings because I'm not water cooling. As long as its safe for being under a fan cooler.

Your board specifies that it supports CPU overclocking, so there should be settings in the BIOS... although you might have to do this manually. If you choose this route, you should be able to save profile's before and after you make any changes to your CPU, so you can revert back if needed. You might need to enter a different menu in the BIOS to be able to see the settings, though, but it should have them. Check the paper manual that came with your MOBO, it should have ton's of information on this.

Otherwise, one thing that some people use is Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. It's very easy to use and allows you to use it within your operating system... because of this, during crashes, it may switch to default settings, but this can help...

Only the memory comes with a profile. That's what I first went to look for.

I'd recommend this if you want to stay clear of the BIOS for overclocking, but because it's not in your BIOS it has some disadvantages and advantages.
