I recently bought a new RAM memory hoping I can boost my performance a bit, however after installing it next to the onboard one I noticed that even though I have bought a 2133 MHz memory with 8GB of space its only running on a 800MHz-800MHz(1600 total) speed.. which needless to say is pretty inconvenient.

After a quick search on google I found out that when you have 2 RAM memories, one faster and one slower the slower speed is used.

Now i am wondering if I could or should disable the on-board ram, or just somehow fix this...And if I should then how?

P.S I have an ASUS X556U
EDIT: After a bunch of searches i realised that the only way to disable it is to switch some thing on the motherboard, however I did not find anything related to this laptop specifically .. can you help me out ?

You won't be able to disable the onboard RAM via BIOS or software and you could easily damage the motherboard if you try those online guides.
By the way have you notice the difference in speed? I don't think you will notice the speed between the 1600MHz and 2133MHz.
It is a lot better to have 16GB RAM @ 1600MHz than 8GB at 2133MHz.
