I just installed a new graphics card, and now every once in a while my screen goes black for a second or so.

So I just installed an rx 580 8gb, and now my screen just goes black sometimes. It happens fairly infrequently, like every 20 minutes or so, and occurs more often when I'm doing a more graphically demanding task. All my driver's are up to date and I'll leave my specs below, but this is beyond my limited knowledge of computers and I'd appreciate any and all suggestions.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7600K CPU @ 3.80GHz
Video Card: Radeon RX 580 Series
Video Card #2: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
RAM: 32 GB DDR4
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (build 17134), 64-bit\


(My 1060 isn't plugged into anything and isn't powered on. And nothings overclocked)

I have a 1000 watt psu from corsair, and the 1060 is plugged into the motherboard, but not the psu. I've tried removing it entirely from the motherboard, but that didn't seem to change the issue. Thanks for the responses though!

Sorry I didn't make it clear, I'm not using the 1060, it was just connected at the time I got the specs, I'm just using an rx 580 8gb Red Dragon from Power Cooler. My monitor is connected using a display port cable plugged into the rx580.

Has the RX580 always behaved this way?

Can you try removing the RX580, and running the 1060 and see if it still happens?

This didn't occur when I used the 1060, it's been happening since the day I put the rx580 in. I'll try and use just the 1060 again and see what happens, I'll get back to you on that.

I guess so, I've had the 1060 in for a while and no issues whatsoever .
I'll contact Power Cooler, thanks for all the help!

Ok, so I've figured something out. Every time the screen goes black, when it comes back on, my monitor's settings are reset. I have a 144hz monitor, and it keeps getting reset to 60hz when the screen goes black. I still cant figure out when the screen goes black most often. Earlier I thought it was during graphically intensive tasks, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It just happens sometimes. Any thoughts on this new information?
