amd quad-core with ssd?

am using
AMD A8-7410 APU quad-core,
4 GB DDR3 1600Mhz ram,
500 mb graphics

am looking forward to install one more ram chip and a SSD (replacing DVD drive),
can anyone suggest best compatible hardware?

Is not a good idea to mix different RAM modules. But when you have to do it you should try to match CAS latency, timings, and voltage with the chip you already have. Even better, try getting the same model # as the RAM module you already have.
Which SSD capacity are you looking?

I recommend you use this tool and get compatible ram, i think you are stuck with one stick of SINGLE CHANNEL. This is an HP, no? I have the A6. I can only support one 8GB stick, I think that's all you get with the A8 as it is the newer model of my Notebook

let it scan your system and recommend memory. Then get one of these for 70 bucks (SSD) or 200 for the 1TB model

It will scan and tell you what memory packages are compatible and how much you can stuff in, and recommend an SSD as well.

I did this for my A6 HP-15 Notebook and it is a ROCKET now, especially combining it with Process Lasso Pro.

Go to a ram site like Kingston or crucial and access their ram upgrade app.
Other vendors have such apps also.
Enter your motherboard and you will get a list of supported upgrade kits.

On replacing a windows C drive with a ssd, I very much like Samsung evo.
Samsung has a free ssd migration app that will move the contents of your C drive to one of their ssd's.
