I am using an ASUS P8Z77 motherboard since 2014 and a HDD. I want to finally switch over to a SSD. I just want to know if my motherboard is compatible with the M.2 SSD. I don't know the specific differences between a M.2 and a regular SSD.

My motherboard is:

I'm thinking about getting this SSD:

Thanks!

Just get a regular 2.5" SATA III SSD.
100% compatible, far less $$ per GB, and unlikely you'd see a performance difference.

Crucial MX500 500GB - $98
