Hi, I'm planning on buying g.skill trident Z RGB but I don't know which one should be better for gaming? 3000mhz CL15 or 3200mhz CL16? One costs 195e and other 198e so I'll just get the "better" one even if the difference is minor.
Also they have for sale 3200mhz CL14 for 260e. Is it worth spending 60e more for CL14? Does it make any fps difference? Thx

Solution
1. your motherboard manul is located at http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/ROG_STRIX_Z370-E_GAMING/E13238_ROG_STRIX_Z370-E_GAMING_UM_WEB_082417.pdf

2 on page ix the ram listing shows it will support either in a overclocking method.

3. the CL16-CL15-CL14 difference is minimal I would use the 3200 CL16

Alright, thanks, I can go with 3200 CL16. I just never tried clocking RAM before, if I get 3200 CL16 and decide to lower the clock to 3000mhz for example will the latency go down to 15 too or nah?

CL14 memory is Samsung B-die and the best on the market and should be what you go for on an AMD motherboard, as memory speed is linked to InfinityFabric interconnect.
On Intel motherboards, they should all function well at the default top end memory speed of 2666mhz., with the CL coming right down, to aid in performance.
