Motherboard BIOS update

So basically i bought a 7gen CPU without payin' attention that my Motherboard is 6gen, So im kinda stuck right now with this computer.

I do not have any other 6gen CPU to update the bios.

Can i possibly Update the BIOS without a 6gen CPU install?
Can i bring it to a computer store and let them do it?
Any Idea?

What happened to the 6th gen CPU that was in there?

Anyway.....you need a CPU to update the BIOS.

If you don't have one....then a computer store will work.

There are a few motherboards that allow you to update the BIOS without a CPU. They're usually high-ish end ones though I think. What motherboard do you have?

Yes, a computer store should be able to do that for you.

What motherboard do you have? as TJ Hooker said you might be able to do whats called a BIOS Flashback where you don't need the CPU in to flash the BIOS to a newer version.

Take it to a store to do the update.
As a precaution, document what your current processor is.
Unscrupulous shops have been known to swap out your strong processor for a lesser one.
