New to PC gaming in way of building my own but have played PC games for years. So straight up I'm buying my PC a few parts at a time and from what I can gather the most important to gather up first is your motherboard, processor, and graphics and the rest comes in time. My question is what is the best motherboard for mid tier PC build and if I could provide my list from pcpartspicker.com I could some advice of what I could scale back on.

What sort of budget do you have? You say 'mid tier' so obviously you're not looking to do 4k gaming. Are you planning to stick with 1080p or 1440p? Are you ok with graphical detail/settings set around medium, or are you hoping for high/ultra settings? Are there particular games you want to play?

1. Now days you don't need a dedicated sound card or network card. The motherboard has both.
2. The motherboard you selected is a bit overboard. The one I selected will do everything you want.
3. Same RAM but cheaper.
4. Same brand graphics card but faster.
5. Added a SSD, staple of 2018.
6. Changed AIO water cooler to one with some,of the best cooling results.
