I have a 1 TB external SSD that I want to be able to use to transfer files between several different computers, all running Windows 10. I connect it through a USB 3.0 cable.
One computer seems to be able to handle this without issue. The others (a desktop and two laptops) frequently develop security/permissions issues when I plug in the drive—usually after the drive has been plugged in to one of the other two computers. I have figured out that I can go through and tell the drive and all subfolders to give full permissions to "Everyone," and this usually seems to help, but I would like for it to be more of a plug-and-play experience rather than having to update the security sessions frequently. Is there a way of setting up this drive to more easily travel between two computers? I don't plan to use the drive to store any installed programs, just to share documents between computers and serve as a library of works in progress and archive of finished projects.
