The size, frequency and config need to be established. What do you want to do with your system?and what do you want to spend? RGB and high frequency RAM cost more.

It is best to select a kit from the MB QVL that have been tested. If you play AAA games then (2x8) Kit is recommended and if editing large video or rendering 3D CAD files then 32GB or more is recommended.
Your I7-8700K officially supports up to 64GB at 2666MHz. Frequencies above 2666MHz are considered OC RAM and would require Tweaking your Bios to get them to their rated speed.
Your MB supports up to 4000MHz and it's best to select from the MB QVL for best chance of success.
