Hi folks,

I recently tried uninstalling Firefox in Linux but it did not completely remove (when I re-installed Firefox using the Software Manager it had still retained my personal settings etc, so there must have been config files still left over).

Is there any way to completely wipe away software before doing a fresh re-install (without re-installing Linux!)?

Thanks for any support,
D

You say Linux as if Linux is an operating system. Linux is not an OS. Linux is the kernel of an OS. There are many different distros that fall under the banner of Linux and each distro has their own ways and methods of accomplishing what you are talking about. What distro are you using?

Thanks Rocky Bennett (and apologies for the delay in responding).

Good point. I would like to know about completely wiping away software in Linux Mint.... what is the best way to do this?

Thanks again
