Hi, i recently got an old comp from a family member as mine had gave in a while ago and they didnt need this one. But once i turnt it on it would just come up and say "cmos checksum bad" and "cmos date/time not set" eo i tried to reset the bios and cmos by removing the battery for a good while and also moving the little hit of plastic over the clrcmos pins, but since i have done that my keyboard and mouse wont respond at all. Ps/2 keyboard and mouse and they where fine up until this point. Dont know what to do, any and all help is greatly appreciated, thank you very much in advance. I do believe its onboard graphics etc.

Solution
What do you mean by "moving the little hit of plastic over the clrcmos pins"? That was probably the jumper cap which you would then move to the adjacent pins for a few seconds to reset the BIOS, followed by moving the jumper back to the original set of pins. (page 19 in your motherboard manual)
Removing the CMOS battery alone doesn't always reset the BIOS.
After resetting the BIOS you'll have to enter BIOS and set time/date and any other user changes.

Yes i have replaced it and still the same error appears. I have left the computer for a few days and turnt it on and the keyboard and mouse are working again. I have fresh installed windows 10 but now just date and time error, think i will get another battery today for it. Any idea why the keyboard and mouse died?
