Hi all,

I am planning on a 2nd gen Ryzen build and want to use a set of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-3200s with the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Motherboard, as it is a cheap X470 board, however I read that it only supports DDR4 - 2133, DDR4 - 2400, DDR4 - 2666, and DDR4 - 3466+(OC). Does this mean that 3200MHz RAM is not supported, or the max it can take is 3466?

All help is appreciated.

Well it depends if they use the same modules or not-if its Samsung memory its almost guaranteed to work but Hynix had some issues (that were quickly sorted out) when Ryzen first launched. The only party that can guarantee it for you is Corsair themselves so perhaps try shooting them an email or call the hotline. With that said though I will still say I believe it will work fine, as the majority of compatibility issues have been sorted since the ryzen release.

Ahh, so having 3200MHz RAM would work fine with the motherboard? Sorry, I'm new to the RAM side of systems. Thanks for the explanation :D

I'm looking at the QVL for the board and the 32GB variant is coming up however the 16GB variant does not... That surely means it's okay? :D
