Hello, I am currently paying for a 400 mbps connection from spectrum. When they set it up they gave me one of their standard modems (Arris TM1602) and their standard routers (Sagemcom RAC2V1S). I currently have a Netgear C7000-100NAS router modem not in use. Right now I get up to 475 mbps max and was wondering if I should switch the router and modem Spectrum gave me and replace it with my Netgear one. Wanted to hear what I should to to achieve the max mbps I can. Thanks.

First question is will the ISP allow you to use your netgear. It must on their supported list of devices. Technically it will work but they have to allow it. You can not just switch it you will have to call them and they will need at least the mac address of the device to allow it to activate on their network.

Speedwise it should work pretty much the same. Docsis is standard. Be very careful about using advanced features in the router 400mbps is very fast and most routers can not keep up when you turn some feature on.
