As long as it's paired with a good CPU then med-ish settings is reasonable at 1440P.

If your going for a monitor upgrade then 1440P/60hz is fine, you may not be able to max everything out however your monitor should be your least upgraded part so going with a higher resolution will be fine until you decide to get a better GPU and then you'll be able to max everything out at 1440P.
