Dram led after installing new ram

I know there are other posted about this but none of them work for me

After installing a new ram stick to boost my total to 16gb it no longer boots, both my old and new ram work fine on there own but won't boot together

My old ones are: Corsair vengeance lpx 8gb (2x4gb) DDR4 3200mhz.
My new one is: crucial 8gb DDR4 2400 Mt/s

I have a feeling there not compatible but I don't know much about ram only heard of DDR4 a couple months ago

Any help would be apreseated and I hope I haven't spent £75 on a stick I can't use

I seem to have fixed it by putting in one stick then booting and that seemed to work. But the first time I booted with the last stick in my pc cut the power to itself but booted fine the second time
