Ryzen 2 B350 or b450

Hi there,
I'm about to purchase a new ryzen system. 2600x is the processor I've chosen but I've heard that ryzen 2 has some compatibility issues with B350 motherboards. Something about precision boost not supporting B350 and is exclusive to B450. My question is, is it worth getting and B450 motherboard with Ryzen 2 or should I switch to B350 and get a 1600x. (My build does contain a 1070ti)

Well the boost functionality is not the most important concern.

A B350 board may not have a BIOS that supports ryzen 2 installed out of the box. If this is the case a ryzen 2 cpu would not work at all. You would need a ryzen 1 chip on hand in order to update the bios to support ryzen 2. A B450 board would be best for assured compatibility with ryzen 2.

I would go ryzen 2 and B450 assuming it isn't a lot more expensive. Shouldn't be depending on where you are.

Bios update issue can be fixed as my friend is willing to lend me his 1400 processor but if im getting better value for outta the B450 I'd rather go for ryzen 2 then thanks! :)
