Hello,
I'm going to be building my first ever pc and I would like to know what you think of my build:

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor (will overclock)
CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X62 Liquid CPU Cooler
Thermal Paste: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut 5.5g
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F Gaming
Memory: G.Skill 16GB Trident Z RGB
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM006
(Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB m.2 *Will be added later*)
Video Card: Gigabyte - Geforce GTX 1080 Windforce OC
Power Supply: EVGA 650W G2
Case: Cooler Master H500M

Total: €1881,85 ---> $2.111,71
Shipping is included

I didn't give any links to the individual parts and where I got them from because I live in Belgium.
All parts have been ordered except for the CPU, RAM and the m.2 ssd since I will add this later. Any comments, tips, other things you could tell me? It's my very first build and I'm a little bit nervous!

Thanks!

I've got some personal things I would do different, but it's a good build.

my tip would be to take your time.
you will make mistakes, guranteed. we all did as first time builders.
take some breaks while building and don't be afraid to ask for help while you build.

Looks really good...I have the 8700K on a Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 motherboard and the 8700K is a great overclocker...Mine is at 4.9GHz not delided..So a great CPU. I would make full use of the high speed M.2 and get this ADATA sx8200 480GB NVMe drive..It is going at a great price, I paid £130 UK for it and I can only sing its praises 3000 reads and 1700 writes...Guru3d and Anandtec just did a review and highly rates it:

Also I have the H500P Mesh which is simply fantastic but the H500M looks even better... Plenty of room to build a really nice setup and cabling is great as well. Pic hear: https://i.imgur.com/8iBfqmQ.jpg

Okay, so I went a bit RGB crazy...RGB is dangerouse, like a drug..be warned..

Hope the build goes well...

Overall looks good

Can you tell me what you would've done different?

case would be corsair 570x or nzxt h700i
psu would be evga supernova g3, or if u can roll it seasonic prime series.
and I would a 100% no a 1000% grab a ssd first and adding a larger storage later (hdd) . its plug and play.

moving an os is not that easily done, and you would benefit from a fast base system. tabs open faster. windows loads faster. overall useage would feel snappier.

Thanks! I'd like to know what your temps are like with a non-delidded 8700K at 4.9GHz. I'm scared to overclock it so high because a lot of people say that the temps are so bad?
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into that!

I was also going to buy the H500P Mesh at first but then I found out that the H500M was coming out. I fell in love with the looks of the H500P Mesh but the H500M stunned me! I like your build!
I want to do a bit of RGB, I will probably even replace the original black NZXT fans on the AIO with some cooler master (A)RGB ones eventually.

My current pc is all black on the inside with no lights at all (it's 5 years old) and I'm bored of the black look. Also the H500M has a very big amount of glass (4 panels!) so i'd for sure want to get some nice lighting in there. I am staying away from light strips for now. I'm also quite scared for cable management.

I have a Corsair H150i Pro, the 360mm AIO and it is very good coupled to a push pull setup. Under bench testing with Prime95, Aida and Cinebench workloads, I never go above 80 Degrees C..I have set the vcore on ofset/adaptive mode and it takes 1.278v and occosaionaly spike 1.304v. Overclocking over 4.8GHz takes a bit of work and the vcore is something you are going to have to learn with trial and error..Luckily you will find a lot of Asus users for you motherboard who have gone through this and you will get help from the on the forums for the best overclock settings for your system.

In general 4.8GHz is easy just by going into the BIOS and picking the 4.8GHz preset though it tends to give more vcore than actually required...after that to keep temps in check, good cooling and fixing the lowest voltage you can is the thing to do...But it is fun learning where the limits are for your 8700K

I should have mentoioned that to get to 5GHz for me was a problem as it required more vcore than I was comfterble with hitting 1.35v and the temps went too high...So I have stuck to 4.9GHz...Probably need to delid if I want to go further...but I just cant take that step..

Looks like a good well balance list. I would go with a cooler that has a mounting system like the Deep Cool Captain. That Asetek pump mounting system, used by many brands, does not put enough pressure on the CPU and does not allow for variance on socket height. I had a Corsair h100i that uses that Asetek pump mounting system and it fit quite lose and caused problems.

As others have said take your time. Maybe watch some build videos on YouTube and I think you will do fine.

i'm pretty sure that I'm going to mount my radiator on the top of the H500M case. The problem I have is that i can only put the 2 fans ontop of the case under the glass and the radiator inside the case on the top. If that is understandable, I'm not that good at explaining but I saw it in a youtube video. I guess I'll use the overclock presets like you said untill I build up the courage to delid.

Good mention, thanks. I have already bought the X62 and I'm still going to use it. Thank you!

I had to take of the plastic/perspex glass out of the top panel to accomadate the extra fans for push pull...A little crude I know but worked out well and as it is blowing the air out of the top, the dust has not been a problem..
