I have a problem with my USB on which I have some movies on but when I plug it in the TV receiver nothing happens and I tried all the buttons and everything in the menu but couldn't find how to connect with USB. And I cant plug it in the TV because its the old one with a scarf cable.

Looking here amazon/germany in the Q&A's, a question about playing movies. The answerer isn't sure but said in the manual mentions usb is used for software updates.

If usb slot is only meant for updates then that would explain why it's not working.

If your tv has an hdmi input another alternative is use Chromecast to stream usb movies from a computer if have wifi in your home for Chromecast to connect to.

What kind of tv receiver and model?

If its a receiver like the picture and it can play videos via usb, check the usb format it supports. Older avr models supported only fat32 and if your usb stick is ntfs that might be the reason why. Backup your movies on a laptop/pc and format the usb to fat32 if this is the case.

It's a Strong PrimaSat II and I've checked and it supports FAT32 and the USB is FAT32.

Looking through here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/924199/Strong-Primasat-Ii.html#manual

Theres some info on usb but stuff you already know about formats and says it's recommended to use a usb2 stick. Usb3 should be backwards compatible but not sure with this unit if they mention usb2.

Is your usb device a stick or portable hdd?

Just in case the media player isn't recognising your videos see if a photo allows it to be detected. Shouldn't be the case though i don't think.
