I have an asus p5k ws motherboard( don't laugh, i'm running a pc repair shop). I have 8 gb of ram (2x 4gb hyperx sticks). If i run dual channel in the yellow slots, my pc wont work at all (black screen and no signal). If i run 1 or 2 sticks in the black slots, i get only 2gb of raM. i should get 4 or 8. please help quick, i must return the pc!

Ok, so do you mean that if i have 4 gb sticks it will only take 2? But then, on dual channel, why doesn't it detect at least 4gb? This is a link to my memory, it's pretty old: https://www.ebay.com/p/Kingston-HyperX-4-GB-DIMM-1066-MHz-DDR2-Memory-KHX8500D2K2-4GR/141786668?iid=123298005999
Anyway, the os might be a problem, it's a windows 7 ultimate.

Oh, sorry, then i sent you the wrong product... darn anyway, mine are 4 gb sticks. The bios recognizes... "System memory- available: 2048 mb" Yea, that was my bad, theese are my actual memory sticks: https://www.okazii.ro/kit-memorie-ram-kingston-hyper-x-4-gb-2x2-800mhz-ddr2-desktop-a197897797
The title says it's 2x2, but if you look at the sticker, it says "4G"
Quick edit: I switched the sticks in the black slots: instead of having stick 1 in A2 now i have stick 2 there
and now i got 4gb out of the total 8. Even if the stick says it has 4gb, i'm believing that it actually has 2, and it says 4 because they come in a dual channel kit. My father built this pc about 8 years ago, and he says it had 8gb, so idk.
