So I have a Dell Lattitude E6520 and the GPU inside there is good but is it possible to upgrade it to a GTX 1050? By "upgrade" I mean external GPU enclosure, but my computer doesn't have a Thunderbolt 3 Port. But if I buy a monitor that supports Thunderbolt 3 and connect the GPU to the monitor and then I'll connect my computer to the monitor over HDMI. Is that possible? Or perhaps is it not recommended as I'll get severely bottlenecked?

Solution
The bottom cover comes off to get to the mpcie slot that the wifi card is in if you want to try that method. Mpcie to pcie x16 adapter to connect gpu. You also need a monitor and psu for the gpu. It is bottlenecked since mpcie is x1 and will also be bottlenecked by the weak cpu but it's better than what it has. Although for the price, you could sell the laptop and probably buy a new one with better performance for the money for the egpu + laptop sale.
