Since May 28th 2018 I’ve been having consstient crash issues whenever I run programs that have any sort of graphic intensity, it can be anything from League of Legends to ESO.

I thought it was the graphics card so I replaced it, but my system is still crashing. I’ve been monitoring the CPU, GPU and MB temps constantly but I cannot figure it out. I think the issue is with overheating because I haven’t ran into this issue during the winter (yet?).

Build:
MOBO: Crosshair V Formula-Z, Rev1.xx
OS: Windows 10 - 64 Bit
CPU: AMD FX-8350
HS: Hydro Series H55
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
MEM: 16GB
HD: WDC WD20EZRZ-00Z5HB0 (2TB)
PSU: Sentey Power Supply 725w (2014) →(switching to)→ EVGA 500 W1 (2018)
CASE: 2 Fans

Is there a way to ignore or increase the threshold on the temps for the system? Would that even fix my problem?

-Thank you

So it turns out the CPU was overheating, it had more than enough paste and the H55 unit was working, but the heat sink portion of the CPU cooler was not cooling down.

The solution was to add a pull fan to the other side of the Heat Sink portion of the H55, unit, identical to the image below:

Worked like a charm!

What do you mean by monitoring the temperatures but that you "cannot figure it out?" What are your temperatures? What software are you using? Reading AMD temperatures is a nightmare and you're best off checking the thermal margin in AMD Overdrive.

Also, if you replace the power supply, the one you're selecting is relatively low-quality and more suitable for office builds then something with a discrete GPU. Buy a decent PSU once a decade rather than a mediocre PSU two-to-four times over a decade.

check that the mb has the newest bios file on it. one issue is the higher end 8000 can under gaming loads over heat or stress the mb vrms. if the vrm are heating up and failing try blowing air onto the mb from a small fan see if keeping the mb cool helps.
