I was running 2x 780 in SLI (bought the first one in Feb '14 and the second in March '17) and my original one seems to have died on me. (Blue dots all over on the screen and the driver won't load/install)

I was trying to decide which way to go as far as what is next. I really can't dump $500 all at once right now, but I will work on saving it up. I was trying to decide to go with either, save for a long while and just go to a 1080, or 1180 if they are out by then, or if I should save for a shorter time and get a 980 ti, then save a little longer and get a second.

I am not affraid of SLI, as I have been running it for over a year with little issues.

I mostly play destiny 2, and random spattering of fallout 4, Forza horizon 3 (which doesn't do SLI BTW) and other top tier games like far cry 5.

Sure it can smell a bit, but nothing toxic. Its only getting just hot enough to reflow the solder, its only for a few minutes.

Ive fixed a couple of cards this way, a 660 is still working fine from this.

If you can get a heat gun, that can be a better way.
