GPU overheating when playing games

Hi everyone! I'm having a problem with my GPU. When playing games the GPU fans go in overdrive and the game lags bad to the point where the fans lag with the game lag if that makes sense. I've tried another GPU and it works fine. Also putting the seeing to low doesn't help at all. Please I'm desperate for any help on this

Sounds like the card is just overheating. Can you monitor the temps with something like msi afterburner whilst playing? When is the last time you cleand the card with compressed air?

I have 3 fans and I keep the side panel off whilst testing it..

It can run games, but the as I put more graphics on in the settings the louder the fan gets, the temp goes higher and the game stutters. The pc is in brand new condition (including the gpu)

It's a pc with 5-7 year old parts so even tho it looks brand new the thermal paste will be dried up in the gpu.
