Need Help With Overheating CPU!

So I've cleaned out my pc the best can, replaced thermal paste ( a pea size of MX 2) and ALSO bought a storage unit so I can place my tower out in the open rather than underneath the desk for more air flow.
The pc runs ok on the low power mode setting in power options but when i change it to balanced the pc starts to overheeat when launching a game or playing for a little while.

I have an FX 8350 (not overclocked)
Corsair H55 AIO cooler
CX600M PSU
ASUS m5A99X EVO R2.0
R9 270X which is fine, doesnt overheat
1 fan at the back, two at the top and one at the front with the side panel removed to try and get it as cool as possible but to no avail.

NOTE:
When powering on the pc and entering the UEFI BIOS, it shows the CPU temp and it is constantly rising and rising eventually shutting off because it is getting too hot and i cant figure out why as theres nothing really demanding in the BIOS.

Please help guys!

Solution
I finally installed the new cpu cooler and replaced all the case fans with high performance corsair fans (which are pretty loud) but the pc now finally never overheats! In bios it stays idle at 34C and on desktop can go to as low as 12C on idle! Thank you everyone for the help and suggestions!

I dont know how old it is as I bought it custom made from someone but I've had it almost 2 years now. I suppose it could possibly be the fault as it did fine several months ago.
What else could it possibly be?

I, too, have an 8350 based build but OC'd to 4.55 on air and without any of the issues you're facing. As mentioned, your AIO could have a dead pump and thus no coolant is being circulated through the radiator. Either that or there isn't sufficient contact between the base and your CPU. Also, for your system's case fans to work as designed and to flow air through, that side panel needs to be reattached. What case do you have? Does it allow for an additional intake fan on the front? Are your two fans at the top exhausting or intaking air?

I've placed the CPU cooler many times on the CPU trying to ensure proper seal so i dont think itll be that tbh and my case is the Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Version: https://www.topachat.com/pages/detail2_cat_est_micro_puis_rubrique_est_w_boi_sa_puis_ref_est_in10056744.html

sorry for not listing that in the description. Im not 100% sure but i think it can only have 1 fanat the front but im planning on installing another on the side panel perhaps as an intake.
Also the fans at the top, im 80% sure, are intaking.

on startup the temps go all the way up to high 50s 60s almsot 70s but then calm down to 20ish on idle but thats on low power mode enabled.

So yea going above 60C is too hot for the AMD FX, put your hand on the H55 while the system is running. You should feel a vibration on the heatsink/pump. If not the pump is dead and the AIO needs to be replaced.

Max temps for your CPU is 61c, and rated for 125 watts TDP. The H55 is rated for about 100 watts TDP.

Solution: Upgrade your HSF to something that at least supports 125W or higher.

I do feel some slight vibrations, I think if i didnt , the pc wouldnt be running at all right now and also i felt the pipes and one is cooler tha the other and the hotter one i feel vibrations which maybe a good sign.

Thanks for the suggestions! But what do you think about the hyper 212 evo and do you think there's anything else in the £30ish range which would be suitable or better than your suggestions or mine?

Use a piece of paper and set it close to the fan. If it blows off, it's exhaust; if it sucks down onto the grill, it's intake. All you need to do is unscrew the fan from the mount and flip it over.

Yes, the Hyper 212 EVO would work well as it's rated for 150 Watt TDP. If you plan on over-clocking, you'll want the Shadow Rock 2. If you plan on keeping settings stock, but with good cooling headroom, then yes, the Hyper 212 EVO would suffice.

so i did the test and it sort of blows the paper upwards but not much but its most likely exhaust. So maybe just add an intake to the side or nah?

It can't hurt to add an additional intake or two seeing your case allows for it. Replace that dead exhaust fan, too.

As someone else mentioned, your CPU's TDP exceeds the cooling limits of that H55. You're either going to need to get a larger AIO or switch to a HSF combo that'll cover the TDP.

Well the air flow should be in the front and out the back/top. Having a designed airflow through your case is important. Just having a bunch of fans blowing in your case with out a helpful airflow is a waste. 2nd I don't think you need a water-cooling for that CPU air should be fine. Like a CoolerMaster Hyper Evo 212, it been around forever but still a very good no frills cooler. But you may have to pull the motherboard to install the backing plate properly. Clean the TG off the HS on the CPU I use rubbing Alcohol and a Q-tip.

Im tempted to buy the 212 evo but Im not 100% as the asus mobo has different profiles: low power, balanced and asus optimal. The optimal one tends to automatically overclock the cpu to about 4.4ghz sometimes and I need to be sure the cooler I choose can handle it so do you think the 212 will be completely fine or is there something a little better?
