Hi,

I just bought a new Vivobook Pro with the following specs:
i7-8750H 2.2-4.1GHz Six core processor
15.6" UHD (3840x2160) w/ nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 w/ 4GB GDDR5
ASUS Approved 512GB M.2 SATA 6Gb/s SSD
16GB DDR4/2666MHz
16GB Optane

I have available a Samsung Evo 860 1tb and also have a 970 Pro 512gb. I know I will have to remove either the optane for the slot or add the 860 Evo if I want more space.

I actually want the best performance for applications like After Effects and Cinema. I wonder which of these should I use and what order to install them. I don't mind not using the 860 Evo if I will get slower performance and just stay with the 970 and default ssd.

Thanks for help and advice,

Rod

i can tell from experience that after effects doesn't bother if it is a regular hdd or ssd. except loading time once you opened the application, there won't be any difference. personally, i love the 970 pro very much and planning to set up a raid array to boot from in my desktop pc.
