SLI manufacturer compatibility

I am looking at purchasing another GPU for extra performance. Currently I have an MSI GTX 980 TI Reference design, and I am wondering if I can use an EVGA reference 980 TI with it?

Solution
It should work yes, but will be a waste of money as todays games doesn't really benefit anything from SLI/Crossfire, some will even run worse than with a single GPU. Not to mention you need a PSU powerful enough to run 2 GPUs.
Better to get a new and better single GPU, and if you can wait a bit then wait for the new GTX 11xx series.
