hi boys

motherboard: asus rog strix b350f gaming
ram: corsair vengeance lpx 2x4gb 3000mhz (CMK8GX4M2B3000C15)
processor: ryzen 2700x

i have 4 ram memory 4gb, when i use only 2 memory the memory run to 3000mhz but when use 4 memory with the same configuration (voltage and frequency) only run to 2800mhz, why?

Check you have latest BIOS (you never know).

(This is the Raven Ridge, (e.g. 2400G) QVL; I didn't see a Pinnacle Ridge (2700x) list)

If you see the 'Run@Speed" column, and scroll to DDR4-3000, you'll see that the 4 DIMM column has no dots. In short, 4 DIMMs won't run at 3000Mhz (if Pinnacle = Raven in this context...not very scientific :) ).

The difference between 2800 and 3000 is minimal anyway. I would aim for 2933, given the that's the CPU's rated memory speed. Perhaps relax the timings a little.

I have the Corsair 2x16GB DDR4 3200MHz (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16) and it works fine on my X470 board, even though it's not listed as compatible. Silicon lottery perhaps?! Could it be the older B350 chipset can't handle the higher frequency RAM with all 4 slots populated? That's why I opted for 2 sticks rather than 4. Return the RAM and look for other types that are Samsung B-die?
