M.2 in new computer build not showing up

hey everyone, I just finished building my first computer. I have a Gigabyte x470 Gaming 7 motherboard and for storage I chose to have a 2TB WD Blue HDD and a 500GB WD Blue M.2, but when I tried to download the windows OS I couldn't find the M.2 as a choice for download.

I checked to see if I plugged in all my hardware correctly and I believe I haven't configured something correctly in the BIOS.

Has anyone had a similar problem like me?

Solution

Unplug the 2TB WD Blue. Use of the m.2 port might conflict with one or more SATA ports.

And you should have only the one drive connected during the OS install.

Check your MOBO instructions for which SATA ports are blocked when you use the M.2 slot that you have the drive installed in. Chances are there is an inconsistency there. Like, USAFRet said, unplug the Blue drive and see if that works.

hey so far it has worked. i unplugged the 2TB HDD drive and only have the 500GB M.2. i tried installing the Windows 10 OS but now in the installation menu it is saying that it cannot be downloaded onto it because of it being a partition 2.

At first i was going through the installation process with no issues and it was downloading onto the M.2, but then for some reason began to reboot and then prompted me to start the installation process again, then it showed me that i cannot download it onto the M.2 due to it being a partition 2
