Hello everyone.

I just built my first ever custom loop to boost my I7-5820K.

To me everything was fine because i thought all parts were aluminum, and going deeper on my researchs about what components i'm, just realized i am mixing metals

Here's what im using for my custom loop.

-Phanteks Glacier 350i CPU Block
-XSPC Nickel Plated Brass Barb Fittings
-2xCorsair H100i GTX Radiators (I had these laying around)

How can i avoid galvanic corrosion?

Will this XSPC EX360 Radiator go well with my block and fittings? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006097HEC?
If so, can i just mount it with the existing water on the loop? Or i'll have to fully dry it to prevent any issues in the future??

Please suggest what's best for me. Thanks!!

Well, assuming you also remove the H100 radiators to remove the aluminum, also.

You might also want to consider some form of biocide or anti-microbial (silver kill coil won't cut it) to prevent algae growth. This can be either additives or simply a coolant with these properties. The last thing you want is stuff growing in your loop because the first place it accumulates is in the micro channels of radiators and blocks.

Here are some links with examples:

You really want to make...

You would need something that is anti-corrosion, like automotive antifreeze is, usually like a glycol coolant. You would need to drain most of the water in the loop (or all, if it is some form of coolant) and refill the loop with the coolant. Otherwise...

To add that XSPC radiator, you'd need to drain the loop and refill using the new radiator. You could go with just a single 240 radiator unless you're overclocking to a (very) large degree.

Well... i plan on going as far as it can at let's say... no more than 1,35v which should requiere a little more than a single 240mm.

So... to add that XSPC radiator all i have to do is fully drain the loop and re-wash it with clean distilled water and i'll be out of any risk? Please let me know :D

You really want to make sure you are choosing something that is a biocide or prevents microbial growth. Some coolants do, some do not.

Thank you very much sir. And don't worry about suggesting additives, PrimoChill Liquid Utopia Anti-Corrosion/Algae was the first thing i added to a galon of distilled water before filling the loop. Then again, thank you very much.

I'll be getting both the XSPC EX360 for the top and the EX240 for the front.
