Hi,
I have been facing this issue for around 7 months now. All websites load in my computer except Wikipedia. It either doesn't load at all or very rarely show a broken page after maybe 20 minutes or so. I tried switching to Firefox and still the same issue persists. I tried accessing Wikipedia on my phone on cellular data and it works, but when connected to home WiFi, it doesn't work. I tried resetting my router (Linksys N600) several times and still not avail. I check the hosts file for any wrong entries and still not avail. What do I do? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Solution
Try to disable IPv6 in your router or in your pc. You are getting both IPv6 and IPv4 names from the DNS.

I guess I figure saying adding it to the end would be obvious.

NSLOOKUP en.wikipedia.org 8.8.8.8

I still suspect it is IPv6 since your hotspot maybe running only ipv4
If both PC/Laptop and Phone can't access Wikipedia, the issue must be in the router.. resetting it should have solved it, and if it did not, you may have to do a more thorough reset... You can reset it in three different ways... Using the Reset Button, Using the Router’s Setup and shutting down the router for a few minutes (power connection removed).

I tried a thorough reset too. I called up my ISP previously and asked them to reset settings for me from their end and all of a sudden Wikipedia loaded. After they reset, Wikipedia worked for 15-20 minutes and then back to not working again.
Today again, I called them and did the same and Wikipedia worked. But only for 15-20 minutes and then it was gone.
ISP say there are no issues on their end and everything is working fine.

The ISP has installed an ONT in my house years ago. From that I have a connection to my WiFi Modem (Linksys N600) and from the WiFi modem I have a LAN cable connected to my PC. I do not have any WiFi extenders or such.

You may have done this since you know about the host file which most people don't. Does it resolve the IP and it just not connect or does the ip not resolve.

Does it do the same if you use a DNS like 8.8.8.8 or 4.2.2.2.

If you use the DNSLOOKUP command and key in the 8.8.8.8 as the dns server do you get a response from google. Your ISP may force DNS to their servers.

What happens if you actually put the wikipedoa in the HOST file. You likely will have to put in mulitple since a site is seldom just one ip.

I've tried putting my TCP/IPv4 as 8.8.8.8 & 4.2.2.2. Still the same problem exists. Wikipedia is not blocked in hosts file too.

I searched for something in Google and if a link to an article in Wikipedia comes up, I click it. The URL changes to for eg: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_CPU_microarchitectures), but the page doesn't load. The loading animation goes on and on and nothing loads or I get a broken Wikipedia page after like 30 minutes or so.

Do the NSLOOKUP en.wikipedia.org

The do it again and put 8.8.8.8 on the end.

Your goal is to see if the problem is dns or IP related. If you are actually getting ip addresses then the problem is much more complex. A web site is made up of a lot other URL and ip addresses. Although complex you should at this point load wireshark and actually look at the traffic going to and form the site. You will be able to tell what ip address is not responding and in many cases you can actually see the html code...assuming it is not https.

Could you please explain step by step. I'm not familiar with command prompts and those commands.
I typed nslookup en.wikipedia.org
I got the results as:-

Server: Unknown
Address: (My IP Address)
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: en.wikipedia.org
Addresses: 2620:0:862:ed1a::1
91.198.174.192

I tried another method too. I disconnected my LAN and connected a Wi-Fi adapter. I switched on Wi-Fi Hotspot on my phone and connected to it and used mobile data to check if Wikipedia works. And it works.
But when I disconnect Wi-Fi adapter and use the LAN, Wikipedia doesn't load.
