M.2 SATA with Asus Hero VII

I bought a Samsung 860 EVO but it isn't detected in my bios.
Read up on different forums and some say that my motherboard doesn't support SATA M.2s but there have also been people who said it does.
Not going to be using it as a boot drive but just extra storage.
Any ideas?

yea thanks for the help.
probably gonna get an entry z370 or the hero x.
have yet to do the comparisons.

wanted to actually swap the 860 for a 970 but now i'm thinking of using the difference (i know it isn't much lol) to change my mb, cpu & ram instead.
