Hey guys. I'm planning on buying a new cpu to pair it with my gtx 1070 and I was wondering which one should I buy. 2600x or 8600k? Take in account that I'm gaming at 1080p 60hz and I want this cpu to last for at least 3 years. So which one of those two do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

For gaming, 8600k still takes the cake... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4Jsd0VuD4c
2600x is not far behind though.

It depends on your workload and some rationale. If you are just gaming, with a couple of Chrome tabs and maybe streaming 8600k should be good choice.
If you are doing anything more than that, 2600x can give you more headroom to play with.
Not to mention, 8600k is more expensive and comes without a cooler. But the flip side is for 2600x to perform close to it, it needs faster RAM.
So, overall the setup will cost you around the same range.
Ryzen has more longevity though, due to the extra threads.
Personally 2600x, but its a personal choice.
I believe that less than 5% faster Intel is not worth the money and more future games/programs will start to use the extra cores/threads you get with the 2600x.
2600x = 6/12 core/thread
8600l = 6/6 core/thread
Twice as many with 2600x also includes a decent cooler and motherboard is guaranteed to last until 2020.
