I have this new cyberpowerpc laptop (fangbook iii hx6) and it was running perfectly. After a few days upon recieving it, the clock speeds on my cpu started go up to 3200MHz while launching fortnite, but after i get into the game, clock speeds on the cpu and gpu drop tremendously (780MHz). This affects the quality of the game, in which i could play at high settings before with 60fps, but now play at low settings at 40fps. I am currently using HW moniter to view clock speeds and temps.

Feel free to contact me at coolshifter99@gmail.com if neccessary
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solution
Sounds like a temperature issue. What are our CPU temps when you play the game? When a CPU overheats, it downclocks to prevent damage. Sounds like when you put the CPU under load (play a game), it overheats and drops the clockspeed to cool it down.
1. Erase your email address

2. With laptops, heat is one of the biggest problems. Laptops will slow the CPU and GPU when temperatures get too high. When you play, make sure the laptop is on a hard surface and none of the vents are covered. Your fans should be screaming ... if not, that's a problem. You say you are monitoring temps ... what are they?
