Hey guys, i upgraded my pc this summer but forgot one small detail: Cpu Cooler. I currently have a stock intel cooler that i installed 2 years ago and i thought it would be fine but when playing games like Far cry 5 or PUBG i noticed that my PC turned into a jet engine and im pretty sure thats not a good sign. So i decided to look into this and found out that the cooler master hyperx 212 is a solid choice. Im very cautious when it comes to my pc because its a really big invesment and i dont want to mess anything up so i just wanted to ask you guys if i need to know anything before buying this cooler.

Oh and can i install it in any direction or does it have to face right side of my mb? If so that could be problem because the ram slot is not that far apart.

Technical Specs:

CPU: Intel I7 4790
GPU: Galax Gtx 1060 6gb exoc
RAM: 8GB Crucial x 4GB Crucial
MB: ECS H81H3-M7
PSU: Thermaltake Smart 600 RGB
OS: Windows 10 SolidShare
PC Case: Aerocool Aero 300

Thanks in advance ^_^

Intel stock coolers are known to be sufficient, but nothing more -- and loud.

The 212 EVO has been a long recommended budget cooler, but it's getting to be pretty dated at this point.

The Cryprog H7 has taken the crown as a better performer, for similar money (and better compatibility) -- although it's not available in all regions.

Where are you located, and what kind of budget are you working with?

Im on a really tight 60 dollar budget. I live in turkey and i looked up the cryporg and the only option is amazon but its too expensive because of import fees and such. My best option here would be the hyper 212x i guess.

300 lira or so?

Doesn't appear to be too many options available in Turkey.

Since all you want to do is reduce noise and have a locked CPU.... perhaps the Hyper T4 is a decent margin cheaper?
If so, it's more than sufficient for your use-case.

If it's close in price to the 212x or 212EVO LED, then you may aswell take those.

You should be able to mount the cooler horizontally or vertically. I personally wouldn't mount it vertically if you don't have some sort of ventilation at the top of your case for the excess heat to escape.

If this is your case I don't think the Hyper 212 will fit. http://www.aerocool.us/pgs/pgs-a/pgs_a_a300.html

It says the case supports a max CPU height of 150mm. I believe the Hyper 212 is 159mm.

Edit: The Hyper T4 is 152.3mm http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-t4/

2nd edit: The Hyper T2 will fit but I haven't read any reviews on it. It is fairly cheap in the US though http://us.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/cooling/hyper-series/hyper-t2.html
