I want my modem in a different room then my switch

Hello- My modem and router are currently in my office but my switch and everything else are in another room. My ISP told me it was possible to run the internet from my modem through the wall to the other room where the wall wired internet switch is. Id really appreciate if someone could tell me how to do this.
If you need any clarification on my post don't hesitate to ask me.

So you could do that today by running a very long CAT cable from room#1 to room#2.

But OK, long cable on the floor ugly, doors can't close etc. so what u would like is a nice JACK on the walls of both rooms, and BAM! But the fact that you are asking you don't have such wall jacks. Homes are not typically wired for computer networks..... so, for this to happen, the nice way, you gotta call in the contractor to run you the cable behind walls and give you that nice jack.
