Hey everyone, I built my PC
(I7 6800k
(Asus Strix X99 motherboard
(western digital 1tb blue hard drive
(2x4gb Geil Super Luce RGB DDR4 2133mhz Ram
(600-watt EVGA power supply
(GTX 980 Hall of fame edition)
about 6 months ago, it worked fine I rarely used it except for occasional gaming days, but I noticed that about a month or two ago it would just shut off during gaming sessions, i never thought much of it I was like oh well I'll just leave it for the next day and it would work the next time I turned it on, But yesterday I was playing Bo3 and listening to music on youtube while playing and my pc shut down, I tried turning it on and it immediately shut off half a second after the fans spun.
I immediately tried turning it on again to which it did the same thing and just kept restarting itself, only to turn on for a half a second.
I then tried resetting the CMOS, Reseating the ram, reseating the CPU, reseating the GPU, and all gave me the same result.
I then unplugged the 24 pin and the 8pin connectors from my motherboard and reconnected them.
This time my pc turned on but none of my fans connected by molex connectors turned on, only the ones connected to the motherboard, and they were all spinning full speed, while my Q-code led read out "00" and from what i've read that is a CPU issue, so what I'm assuming happened is that the power supply failed and short circuited the CPU and completely fried it, but please if anyone can help me then please do! Any comment is helpful, I also started an RMA thing with Intel but It's way complicated so I'd like to see if there are any other alternatives before I ship it back to them, anyways thank you to those who respond to me!

- Marco.

I am having this same issue. After mouths of searching on the web I found nothing so I started replacing parts. This led to only my cpu or motherboard. So I turned my pc on and waited for it to die then I took the cpu out to feel it and it was super hot. So now I assume that thats the problem. Since you had the same issue im guessing its also the cpu for you. Id try replacing the thermal past and making sure its all clean in there (Because thats the cheapest thing to do at this point). Then if that doesn't work Id look into buying a new cpu. Sucks cause its one of the most important part but you gotta do what you gotta do. Of course Id wait to see what other people think because maybe im dead wrong but I just wanted to let you know my experience with the same issue.

Ah damn I figured it was the cpu but that’s unfortunately the most expensive part of my Pc and every cpu for my socket is at least $250, so I’m hoping intel’s warranty service comes in clutch.
