Hello, well am facing the problem stated in the title ( I dont know if it one)
I just bought a Dell optiplex 7010 MT with 8 gigs of ram pc 12800, i7 3770, 1TB HDD e.t.c.
I was afraid of the stock cooler dell shipped it with and went on changing it with Tt contac 21. It required to customize the cr** out of it but it worked in the end.
I am using the stock cpu fan as my fan on the installed contac21 because of 5 pins on the mobo vs 4 on the fan from Tt.
I am reaching max 78 degrees on the Cpu with prime95 and turbo boost enabled, are these temps normal?
Should I install a second fan on the heatsink?
I have flushed to A28 Bios rev.

Thank you in advance.

Solution
Sorry mate but you have a crap cooler, if you had a noctua nh-d15 or a corsair h100i v2 then it would be high but with that cheap cooler you have a very good temperature.

I dont know mate it seems quite high from what I have found on the internet.
I am saying again that I have an aftermarket cpu cooler but the stock cpu cooler fan from Dell on it, could this be the problem?
If I change the cpu fan will it perform better?
The current stock cpu fan from dell is 80mm.

Thanks in advance

factor in the dust and old thermal paste, then 78c is just fine for a torture test. You probably idle around 40c and reach around 60c+ while gaming. Perfectly fine.
