I'm trying to open the port 25565 on my netis router for a minecraft server on TCP and UDP. However, when I checked on this website https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and it said that port 25565 is closed. My computer's firewall isn't blocking the port, I added the port in inbound and outbound rules (both TCP and UDP) and I even tried to turn it off. The netis router doesn't have firewall and the routers firmware is up-to-date. Did I do something wrong when port forwarding? Thanks in advance.

You mentioned IPv4.

Does your ISP offer IPv6? Are you using IPv6?

If not, disable/uncheck that on your network card. Just as a matter of elimination if anything.

Who is your ISP? Someone may know if there is some relevant issue or problem within their service or policies.

I am using a static ip for the server. It is out of the DHCP ip range. How do I reserve it for the server's mac? And should I increase the DHCP ip range on the router?

Should not need to increase the DHCP IP range unless you have more devices that the currently configured range.

The key is that the Minecraft server's IP address remain the same (static) and that the router cannot assign a duplicate IP address via DHCP.

As for the reserving the static IP:

http://setuprouter.com/router/netis/wf2411/manual-2303.pdf

See Section 4.6 starting on Page 46 and Section 4.6.3 Address Reservation in particular.

You will need to know the MAC for the target Minecraft server.

Not sure if the linked User Manual matches your router directly - should be very much the same overall.

If not, just google for the applicable User Manual or visit the Netis website.

I found the address reservation but should I insert the MAC address of my computer for it to work?

Thanks for the link but the server still doesn't work. When I connect to it with my public ip it just says io.netty.channel.abstractchannel$annotatedconnectexception (a lot of people on the internet seem to have the same problem). I can only connect to it with my IPv4. I also tried a different site and it says that all my ports are stealthed. Is there anything else I could try to make it work?
