Cloning OS to 2nd HDD then migrating HDD 1 to SSD

Wanting to put my OS on SSD but hard drive has more data on it than SSD has storage. I have a 2nd hard drive, nothing on it, and was wanting to clone my original HDD to the new HDD then migrate my OS to the SSD therefore deleting everything on the original HDD, then delete the cloned OS off the new HDD. Basically I'm asking if that's what I need to do, rather than having to redownload all games, apps, etc.. (very slow internet btw)

This is how I would do it.

I would move all the data files to the blank HDD. I would leave all the apps and the OS...but move all the data files (picture, music, whatever).

HOPEFULLY it is now small enought to fit on the SSD.

Then I would clone it to the SSD.

Then I would wipe the original drive and use it for backup or data.

....and keep the other HDD with the data and keep it non bootable.

If it still isn't small enough OP. I assume you are using Steam. In which case Steam will move your game installs to the hard drive. After which you've hopefully reduced your storage needs enough for the SSD.

What i would do is install a fresh copy of windows on the SSD. Then just copy ALL your personal files. Then delete the windows folders and stuff but NOT the PROGRAM FIELS (X86) because your games are stored there
