X99 for gaming?

thats a workstation motherboard, meaning its better for video edditing. a z370 motherboard will give you better peformance in gaming and streaming.

Yeah, it can game like a beast for sure, but it is not the most economical way to game. There are parts out there that will perform better for cheaper. You would do better with a mainstream Intel or AMD CPU as they will have slightly better performance for significantly less money.
Now that we have mainstream platforms offering 6 and 8 core CPUs, I don't see the older HEDT (high end desktop) platforms looking terribly appealing. Unless you really need the extra PCIe lanes and can get a good deal on the older hardware.
