Hello,
so i was using my pc for 2 years now and yesterday my gpu suddenly got too hot while I was playing BF4, I even smelled it! Whenever i start a game it gets up to 80°C in maybe 20 seconds. It never had this issue before. I already did a malwarebytes scan and I also cleaned it. Any suggestions?
Hardware: GPU - GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (gigabyte)
CPU - Intelcore i5 4460
PSU - Thermaltake TR2 S (700W)

Solution
Ouch it's worrying that you can smell it. Definitely look for any burn marks, blown capacitors, or melted plastic or pcb when you open it up. Also double check that your fans are actually spinning up. You can always try repasting it too.

Your computer should have crashed or given a bsod if the gpu was overheating that badly.
