I recently got this led strip from a friend, who told me to connect it to my motherboard. It has only 2 pins, which is why i have no idea where to plug it. Cant connect it into my psu either. Do i need an adapter for this?

You will have to take the wires out and insert them into a MOLEX connector.
You could also strip the two wires and attached them to the wires on the MOLEX connector.
Make sure to insert the two wires in the correct place depending on the voltage (12v, 7v or 5v) requirements of the LED strip.

It will be helpful to see the LED strip you have.
Which motherboard do you have?
Some motherboards have 4-pin LED connectors to plug LED strips.

Since you have a 2-pin strip you might need to use a male MOLEX connector.
If you have a male MOLEX connector lying around, solder or connect the pins to the positive and negative wires. The Yellow wire is 12V, and the black is ground.
You could use hot glue to cover and secure the wires so they don't come loose or keep them from touching anything else in the case.
Then plug into a female MOLEX connector from your power supply.

Your motherboard does not have connections for that 2-pin connector.
That is a very blurry picture, but it looks like you could connect that to a MOLEX connector coming from the PSU.
I would like to see a better one to be sure.
